When the team at Lakenheath go βWow! Whatβs that?β You know itβs going to be good.
Despite having about 6 different names, which confused the situation a bit, it got worked out to be a NFM Scarce Bordered Straw. I think it might have been new for all concerned.

Led a guided walk around RSPB Lakenheath fen on Sunday morning. Managed good views of Kingfisher, Hobby (Photo), Marsh Harrier, Green Sandpiper, Great White Egret amongst others. Best of all though were 100+ hirundines, House & Sand Martins swooping around just feet above. Happy guests!! #Birds!

Researchers found that a reduction in forest cover reduced evapotranspiration and disrupted regional atmospheric systems.
I watched this tonight and loved it. Highly recommend.
