Just watched the film *2073* and I find I can't breathe very well.

Anyone else seen it? Did it affect you that way, too?

Border Czar Tom Homan was caught by the FBI accepting bribes - on camera - to deliver government contracts in exchange for $50,000 in cash.

Pam Bondi knew.

Kash Patel knew.

Emil Bove knew.

And they made the investigation go away.

A corrupt attempt to conceal brazen graft.

Judge strikes down Trump’s $15 billion suit against the New York Times A federal judge in Tampa dismissed President Trump’s defamation lawsuit against the New York Times, calling it improper. Judge Steven D. Merryday allowed a new complaint to be filed within 28 days.

It looks like this Republican appointee junked Trump’s complaint on his own, offended by its various abuses of process. That’s a first for a President.

Tom Homan was investigated for accepting $50,000 from undercover FBI agents. Trump's DOJ shut it down. The FBI and Justice officials closed the investigation, which a Justice Department appointee had called a β€œdeep state” probe in early 2025.

WHOA.

Tom Homan was being investigated for accepting a $50K bribe from undercover agents before Trump and Pam Bondi shut it down.

The $$$ was in exchange for access to government contracts in Trump’s 2nd term.

HUGE scoop.

Increase in productivity since 1979: 87%

Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32%

Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%.

As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

Critical part of the President's new $100,000 charge for H1-B visas: The Administration can also offer a $100,000 discount to any person, company, or industry that it wants. Replacing rules with arbitrary discretion.

Want visas? You know who to call and who to flatter.

'No evidence' found yet of ties between Charlie Kirk's shooting and left-wing groups, officials say Three people familiar with the federal probe into Kirk’s assassination told NBC News that investigators have yet to find a link between the alleged shooter and left-wing groups.

I don't really care about Jimmy Kimmel, but it is worth noting that one of the jokes he got fired for was basically a late night comedy version of this headline, something that disrupted the dominant Reichstag narrative that is being constructed around Kirk.

Justice Eddins went even further in a concurrence joined by two other justices. He flamed the U.S. Supreme Court for choosing to
"steamroll" the First Amendment's separation of church and state by mandating government support of religion. He wrote:
The federal wall cracks. The Supreme Court's recent religious clause cases wreck the relationship between free exercise and non-establishment.... The Roberts Court casually dismisses the lessons of American and world history, the warnings of prominent early Americans, and the judiciary's storied legal minds. Bad things happen unless government and religion are completely separated.
Justice Eddins also wrote about something you and I have been talking about for a long time, which is the conservative supermajority making up facts. He called out Kennedy v.
Bremerton, the notorious "praying coach" case, writing: "As it often does, the Court repackaged and whitewashed facts to achieve a desired outcome." This is the same point that Sherrilyn Ifill has made on the show about how the record in that case, and so many others, is ignored.

I am pleased to report that Hawaii Supreme Court Justice Todd Eddins has dropped another total evisceration of the Supreme Court.

The thing about unchecked power is it often makes grave mistakes. One of the reason Putin decided on the folly of war with Ukraine was the lack of those willing to tell him he was making a grave error. I fear @realDonaldTrump will stumble into a war, costing troop’s their lives.

Top Democratic Leaders Ask Trump for Meeting to Avert a Shutdown

Trump attacks 1A, demands opponents be prosecuted without legal basis, imposes tariffs and visa fees. All very bad, all unpopular, all divide parts of Trump’s base.

What should Dems do?

Some of us: Dunno, attack Trump?

Dem leaders: Could we have a meeting, sir?
