Cardiovascular disease is the world’s biggest killer of women. Yet the reality is that too little research has focused on how heart disease develops, presents and responds to treatment in women.

VISIBLE will invest US$55m into cutting‑edge research to change that 💡

↪️ The Govt has a crucial opportunity to support salt reduction through the upcoming Healthy Food Standard.

This policy must hold all large food businesses to account with mandatory reporting and ambitious healthier sales targets, and meaningful penalties for non compliance.

↪️ Most of the salt we consume is already added to everyday foods before we purchase them.

Reducing salt levels in products before the point of purchase is a quick and cost-effective way to help reduce risk of high blood pressure across the population.

🆕 report by @actionsaltsugar.bsky.social has found that many premade soups available in supermarkets are too high in salt ⚠️

Excessive salt consumption is a major contributor towards high blood pressure, which is associated with around half of all heart attacks and stroke in the UK 🚨
