Republicans win the House, NBC News projects, as Trump's party takes full control of Washington
President-elect Trump now has a clear path to enact his agenda and fill out his administration with both chambers of Congress in GOP hands come January.
With Republican control of the White House and Congress, there will be pressure for spending cuts to help pay for tax cuts.
Trump said Medicare and Social Security cuts are off the table, and defense cuts are unlikely. That leaves Medicaid and the ACA as targets.

The share of people who are uninsured stayed at a historically low rate in the second quarter of 2024, according to new government data.
