I believe Tel has the higher ceiling but also the more work to do to reach that ceiling.

07.10.2025 18:08 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0In the current setup and personnel profile, we’re a better counter attacking away team from home, than a ball dominating home team.
I think we will continue to “get away with it” more away and disappoint at home. Overall, more to come from this team but expect further bumps in the road ahead.
Ketchup and mayo together is sometimes known as Saucy Sauce, or Fancy Sauce. However it’s named, it’s a right ruddy delight 👌

19.09.2025 23:54 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0During Ange’s reign, Bardi said that he wanted a “Swiss army knife” manager, who adapted to the circumstances rather than being overly wedded to one way of playing. I’m surprised they’ve never revisited this on the Extra Inch, and therefore wondered if Bardi feels Frank fulfils this brief?
17.09.2025 18:21 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0A reminder that Brentford (66) outscored Ange’s Spurs (64) last season and were the 5th highest scoring team in the league.
So there is direct evidence that Frank can coach a team to score goals on top of a solid base, even within a comparatively weaker playing squad. Bodes well.
Several things can be true simultaneously, depends on personal perspective.
More focused on how underlying performance may impact future results, you’re likely unhappy.
More focused on current results and seeing how it evolves, you’re likely happy.
Neither is wrong, neither is right.
So the more comparable test will come when the injuries and suspensions arrive this season
Does the balance of the Frank side & more pragmatic approach cope better with them than Ange’s did?
I had a big soft spot for Ange & feel if he’d shown more situational adaptability, he’d still be here
Interesting analysis. Could well be that the current formation and tactical application is sub-optimal. However, for now, I think establishing baselines whilst getting points on the board is more than acceptable. The key is once the ceiling of this approach is reached, does Frank have another level?
15.09.2025 22:46 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Daniel Levy’s greatest achievement as Tottenham chairman was convincing the world he didn’t exist.
I don’t even know what that means, but it felt good to write it.
Get rid of internationals during the club season. At the end of each season have the necessary international tournaments, including qualifiers. Do these across a short time window, then give players proper rest in remaining off season.
Alleviates fixture congestion & is consistent year to year
Anyone else getting these vibes from the Lewis situation?

There are currently 10 teams in League 1 who’ve played premier league football. That’s nearly half the league. Success and stability should never be taken for granted

Im not sure anything ever gets close to the Toure brothers for that song, but with our recent acquisitions we certainly have a chance to steal it with pride!

I don’t think it makes a tonne of sense considering the majority of prem teams are stacked with internationals, who are also about to go and play for their country…..
To me it’s just a combination of a coincidence and Spurs general inconsistency
The likelihood of our existing youth prospects fulfilling potential is greatly enhanced by stepping into a cohesive, top end competing team.
For that, established quality like Eze needs to be added. It’s an investment in that sense, even if his sell on might not be huge at the end of his contract
Bloody hope so Spook 😉

15.08.2025 15:58 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I think this, with a higher calibre of player at Spurs, will be worth a lot and will be very effective both in the games where we are possession dominant and need to find a goal from somewhere, and those where we are possession weaker and need to maximise counter/set piece opportunities.
15.08.2025 09:02 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0A big facet of Brentford’s “success” under TF was a relentless physical pressure, keeping the ball alive and constantly asking questions of defences, both as individuals and collectively.
15.08.2025 09:00 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0From what I’ve seen so far, I think we will be a team that takes the most appropriate approach depending on the opponent.
This is common sense, and how any sane person would set about winning a 1-1 battle unless they had a clear technical or physical advantage that meant they didn’t need to.
