It's funny you say that because despite actually enjoying CoD from time to time, when I need to free up space, CoD is the first on the chopping block. If it wasn't so large, it would just live on my SSD and I'd be way more likely to just pop back in here and there to see what's up!

i don't even want to go to bat super hard for this game because i *definitely* didn't love it as much as other people seem to have, and i have some real Big Problems with it, it's just that the characters weren't one of them. haha

you've got the lady who's crazy about science, the lady who's a 90's coffee cafe open mic'er, the teen that isn't stereotypically annoying, The Guy, and the weirdo, but I'm not sure you've gotten the weirdo yet. plus i think the gestrals are fun.

*but* i admit, i also loved the combat. that helps.

i dunno, i kinda get where folk don't like BotW, but your specific complaint about expo33 where the "characters just get sad all the time" i just... fully disagree with. it's a little too quick to assume one should care about the characters, but i do think it earns it eventually

oh, I'm not saying what Nintendo is doing isn't *smart*, but the argument that "fun, innovative" games can't exist without unique hardware is kind of a non-starter for me.

but also, even through the Switch, since the wii, third party games don't sell especially well on Nintendo platforms

i'm not saying there isn't something special in a gimmick, but if super mario odyssey came out on the xbox, nothing would have been lost

... i mean, coming from the company who *happens* to make incredible games but who's hardware has relied on gimmicks, this totally checks out. but outside of wii sports it's hard to think of a single nintendo game that was made better because of their hardware choices

Don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for 'em, I think it's a neat idea! But my needs are already served by the five different devices I have within ten feet of me that can already play all these games.

1. I don't think there's actually that many fans of the Chameleon and the Amico. I think those weirdos were just really loud.
2. I don't think there's actually that huge of a market for new-retro, and what market there is is already being pretty handily served by the Anbernics,Ayoneos, and Retroids

I have an Ally X and absolutely did the same thing. I'm not much for RGB in general but having it flank the screen you're playing on is such a weird choice!
