The show would have hit a lot differently if they stuck with the originally proposed name:
Battlestar Caligula

Is there anything as cruel as a "final session of the campaign level up"?
Me, pondering doing exactly that.
We have been "living room gamers" for five decades. Clip-boards become very useful tools for holding character sheets and providing a writing/rolling surface. An end table or TV tray generally helps the GM.
Maybe not the one-true way, but our way.
It did *some* of the things early folio edition Arms Law and Spell Law did--both of those sunk their talons (Tiny C Crits) into me.
I admire it as an RPG artifact, much like Avalon Hill's Powers & Perils, which was also a swing and a miss (although one I am more fond of--not that it was better).
Have you seen the price at hair-dressers? Finally a dragon's hoard makes sense!

I had a friend who *swore* by DQ back in the early 80s. It was his perfect game.
We, the players, had varying and less positive opinions. It was better than Universe, SPI's SF game, but wasn't quite what we wanted.
Thanks to @vennart666.bsky.social for introducing me to the unique moves of Luigi Primo, the pizza throwing wrestler

This is a shocking turn of events! Perhaps one of those fancy standing desks is in order?

Old story is old!
Does anything pre-Crisis even count anymore?!?!
(I'm just having fun, not seriously discussing the merits or flaws of anything (aside from my awful sense of humour)).
Say this about the 1970s. The Vampire Hunters had a sense of style...

Watching Department Q. βTartan noirβ with the three Scottish actors who arenβt David Tennant, starring someone with a passing resemblance to Tennant.
All the characters are deeply flawed (minus Edinburghβwhich is certainly a character but is mostly there to be gloomy).
Good if you like that stuff.
I did have a game where the Dwarven polity, a league of mining towns, was a "Dwarfbund" (Zwergenbund).
Other than some comments about "fine Dwarven engineering" and beer festivals the parallels stopped there.
It had a real Crusader Kings sort of vibe to it--all those little "event" decisions (and more mundane ones too) had a profound effect on your relationships, your holdings, and your reputation.
Life (and the Army) got in the way and I had to let it go.
I don't remember the name, but in the 80's I played a text-heavy PBM where you played a minor noble.
Your father in law and the bishop both inquired about your prize hound's new litter. Keep them or gift them?
The Count wants to levy a new tax this Spring. Support it? Convince him otherwise?
Discussing how big your very large geese should be.
Goosossus. I may not recover from that one. Brilliant.
Well, having finished three seasons of Mr Inbetween (which I enjoyed) I am at a loss.
Also, the crossed hammer and khopesh were invoked in todayβs game, proving Marxism is over 4000 years old. So that happened.

Sometimes being disconnected from anything but the books is a blessing. I liked The Terror--but that expedition always fascinated me.
I learned about Wilkie Collins, and some stuff about Dickens in Drood--but I don't think I enjoyed reading it. More like persevered.
I guess my selfish and petty criticism of Loresheets is I am not smart enough nor creative enough to come up with all that supporting lore myself, but am compelled to never accept setting material as written.
(I have run WotG).
True Story: they let people wear military uniforms with 0 dayβs training.
In fact the instructors insist on it.
Me: It's sooo late.

This is a challenge that only the preeminent actor of the 21st c could achieve, and here at Sony we are committed to an eight movie series where ever character, every walk-on, and the entire film crew will all be Jared.
You're welcome.

Guys with some time on their hands and interested in a side-gig with a bit of acting are probably working for βscaleβ (or whatever they call actor minimum wage) and are eager to do them?
Good for them, probably helps ratings a bit, seems like a win-win.
So many fun guest-starsβ¦ β¦Roger Daltrey and Roland Gift spring to mind immediately.
We called it βthe cutting off heads showβ and it was mandatory watching in the barracks TV room.
