Honestly I like the idea of him using a long sword from time to time because I like to think he is acquainted with huntsman from his late 30s maybe and they can have a friendly long sword rivalry. I like huntsman he is cool.

It feels more fitting for him, methinks. Idk if I'll forgo the great sword entirely I've drawn him with one like, one time I think.

I've always had quillan's main weapons be switch axe, great sword and long sword in that order for how good/confident he is with each but after picking up long sword in wilds and thinking on it a bit I might just have him be a switch axe/long sword hunter, or make long sword his main secondary.
