I’d have ranked Metropolis Street Racer higher but the process of clearing the game is just too repetitive imo - it’s 250+ events but it often feels like you’re doing the same stuff over and over, which gets exhausting. That’s its only major flaw though tbf, it’s just a big one

They’re very, very janky in Fighters Megamix - really glitchy odd, and do next to no damage to most characters. IIRC one of Bean’s moves has him end in the air, then quickly drop to the floor in his standing pose

Because I’ve played Squeak Squad plenty (it was my childhood Kirby game) and hahahaha no I’m not playing Amazing Mirror get serious

It's got some good tunes, lovely graphics, and cute character designs, but my main thought while playing it was never 'oh man this is amazing' so much as 'man I kinda wish I was just playing Dream Land 3' or 'hey they did this in Dream Land 3, but better'

It’s… average. Sadly no DL3 style turnaround on this one - it’s a more sluggish take, with a somewhat cumbersome combination gimmick and the Crystal Shards that feel less thought out than DL3 or even DL2’s collectibles.

In DL2 and DL3, you generally have what you need to complete a stage within the actual stage, which I think works better - there's only one or two exceptions in each game, and as a result it doesn't feel as egregious as 64 making me back out to entirely different worlds just for one ability

Started Kirby 64... while I'm enjoying it more than previous attempts, I do think the Crystal Shards are done worse than DL3's Heart Stars or even DL2's Rainbow Shards

Basically any copy ability related one requires backing out to a different stage for the relevant ability, which feels clumsy

I think Super Star beats it in pure gameplay, but Dream Land 3 is a better Kirby adventure taken as one single package. IMO if Kirby’s Adventure is like, Sonic 1/2, Dream Land 3 is CD

I’ve tried it a few times but always bounced off it… was too slow for my tastes. I’m thinking DL3 making me more open to a slower, more exploratory Kirby will bode better for it this time

Kirby 64 is next on my list - another one I've played several times but never finished. Maybe I'll come around to it like DL3
