AFC Wimbledon. I lived near Plough Lane for many years. I've supported them through thick, thin and reforming.

24.09.2025 09:59 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0That is horrific. Then again your ex won't be deported because she's white. This is all about deporting folk of a different colour skin ie blatant racism.
22.09.2025 22:20 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Oh, and Dorking Wanderers.
20.09.2025 22:12 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0When we were complete and utter dog shit, I sacked off Plough Lane and ticked off some new grounds. H&Y was one although I'd done Church Road a couple of times. I also did local grounds Raynes Park Vale and Cor-Cas when you were there, apparently. Also did Woodbridge Town the day we beat MK at home.
20.09.2025 22:11 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I've lived in Mitcham for 21 years. Before that I lived 20 minutes from the old Plough Lane and 15 minutes from our current ground. Tooting and Mitcham by any stretch of the imagination can't be part of Surrey although the Morden Hall park is rather lovely.
17.08.2025 22:17 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0In the meantime, I'm off to Reading via a 60+ Oyster and a senior Railcard. Sadly too young for a concession ticket but L1 football for £26 isn't bad.
15.08.2025 21:56 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Having read the article, AFC Croydon Athletic isn't far away either. Nearest tram stop is Therapia Lane.
15.08.2025 08:43 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0My closest club. Half a mile as the crow flies. Easy journey for you. Train to East Croydon then a tram to Mitcham. Five minutes walk from there.

24.06.2025 21:08 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I listened whilst driving around Somerset. The other club to suffer flooding was AFC Telford Utd.

06.06.2025 16:08 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I dread to think how much the match tickets were. I paid £36 when we played Luton 14 years ago - admittedly that was at Manchester City's ground.
Cheapest adult tickets for the L2 final were £27 and I paid £13.50 for a concession.
What a day! I was there with my son and daughter. My daughter and I had photos taken with you at Kingsmeadow in 2016. Nine years is an occuring theme.

24.05.2025 15:44 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Spot on regarding 11 years old peaking your interest in football. The first match I knowingly watched on TV was the 1973 FA Cup Final between Leeds and Sunderland. I was just 6 weeks off my 11th birthday.
20.05.2025 21:55 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0You'll be there in spirit which counts for a lot.
20.05.2025 21:47 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I love the Surrey Senior Cup reference. We (AFC Wimbledon) beat Palace's youngsters en route to the final in 2005.
20.05.2025 11:32 — 👍 4 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Normally I'd agree re the kickoff time but as I didn't get home from Plough Lane until 5pm, it meant that I was able to watch most of it.
19.05.2025 10:17 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Hopefully I'll be there in a couple of week's time.
11.05.2025 12:16 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0As a L2 supporter I fully agree. I work Sundays and Mondays so I've had to holiday when I don't even know if my club is going to make the final.
05.05.2025 21:07 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0To answer the AFCW above MK debate, in 2018 they got relegated from L1 whilst we finished 18th.
02.05.2025 20:32 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0That took ages to download, had to cancel and start again.
On my playlist for the drive up to Grimsby tomorrow.
Excellent news.
24.04.2025 21:06 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0@samwhyte.bsky.social Regarding sitting or standing - my seat at AFC Wimbledon is in the front row of the safe standing. Right behind the goal so I can see the pitch whether I sit or stand. I tend to mix it up a bit.

I've dealt with a woman who is sleeping on the streets. When people offer to buy her something she asks for washing powder/liquid/conditioner because she knows that she can sell 3 for £10. She's newly homeless and needs help. A mirror, wet wipes and sanitising wipes are stuff I've bought for her.
13.03.2025 23:22 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I work for a high street retailer in a convenience/local store. We have a number of shoplifters which the security guards can't intercept due to the risk of litigation. In the meantime genuine homeless beggars aren't allowed to beg outside because it annoys customers. It stinks.
