This actually happened in Gaffr this season. Junior Firpo (ues, he of FPL infamy) was handed a 3 match ban which was made public in the morning on Saturday. Gaffr deadline was Friday evening.

Yes this example seems plausible. We all need to get lucky in that regard, but if there is no data beforehand to suggest that could happen, then it is not worthwhile planning for.
We can only know what has happened before and use this to hopefully project what is more likely to happen in the future.

You’re right. However, some underlying stats are usually the best possible indicators for what are the most likely outcomes. xP or EV is just a measure of what is the most likely outcome.

Except not possible to score decimals, but that is more about possible score and how likely score is etc
