Themes of acceptance ANYwhere are generally good. SF can draw interesting parallels rather than make direct references which, I think, can make the reader see things in a broader light, and make us think beyond a specific example.

CURRENTLY READING — In preparation for an upcoming BookTube video, bound for the Golden Age of Science Fiction:

"Half-Breed" by Isaac Asimov, first published in the February 1940 issue of Astonishing Stories.

What happens when a Human-Martian half-breed is adopted by an eccentric scientist?

Just finished this "autobiography" of the SFWA's 14th Grand Master, A. E. van Vogt.

It really rambles. Events are not linear or structured well at all.

BUT!

It's really a direct transcript of several recorded interview sessions, so it's all top-of-mind recollections. Engaging and very personal.
