I can understand that and at the same time it makes me very sad; such a loss of cultural/social exchange but also the store of knowledge from archives etc. :(

Hi Robert, thanks for your take on this. I think you are right with regards to the career 'age'. And then its additionally hard, if you are dependent on the material in archives on-site for the project. How far it has come that scholars need to think about such measures. :(

I joined Bluesky >2 weeks ago and have been contemplating ever since, what I can post about academia in the current climate. Considering my research will take me to the US twice this year, the 'want' and the 'should' seem to be at odds with each other, does anyone else feel this way too?
