As a person was raped - repeatedly - as a young girl -

the US never did take it seriously. It's just now -- it's impacting people you've heard of.

I gotta sign out. It's not the Epstein files.

It's what is not happening about them.

Tennessee woman says hospital canceled her sterilization surgery while admitted to hospital Mojo Foster said she had been seeking a salpingectomy β€” a surgery that removes the fallopian tubes β€” after years of trying other birth control options.

Disgusting.

I've had men not understand when I made the point that women's bodies are political. Politics isn't a choice for me if I want to retain my freedom.

Our bodies are not political by nature. They are political because of men.

As the guy who wrote the book on zoning abolition, I'd like to go on record as saying: if you can use zoning to stop the concentration camps, fucking go for it.

Milwaukee DSA

Feb 23, 2024

...

On this day, February 23rd, in 1873, Meta Berger (nΓ©e Schlichting) was born in Milwaukee. She became the first woman to win a seat on the Milwaukee school board in 1909, only seven years after women could vote in Milwaukee school board elections and ten years before women's right to vote was passed into law nationwide. Berger served on the Milwaukee school board for three decades; she continually promoted feminist actions like allowing women to continue to teach after they marry as well as progressive actions like supporting the construction of school playgrounds.

After graduating college in 1894, Berger taught as a Milwaukee public school teacher until she married Socialist politician Victor Berger in 1897. During this time, she educated herself on Socialism and became involved in the Socialist party. She then ran for Milwaukee school board on the Socialist ticket and won in 1909. She eventually became President of the school board. Berger passed a number of progressive measures during her tenure: creating a pension system for public school teachers, providing medical exams for children, and enabling female teachers to join unions are just a few of her many accomplishments.

It should also be noted that she met with notorious Social Democratic Party of Germany leader Friedrich Ebert in the 1920s and met one-on-one with Nadezhda Krupskaya in the 1930s

β€œwhy do you hate technology” as though β€œtechnology” were some discrete entity divorced entirely from the context of what it does and what it creates, rather than a category so broad as to constitute reality itself
