Don't know if there's a phrase for this particular style of game, but "technical platformer" is what I like.
Basically a third or first person platformer that has a lot of depth in it's movement abilities. Pseudoregalia and Neon White are the examples that come to mind.
Glad you got it working! FYI there was a bug with the grappling hook, just pushed a new build to the itch page like 10 minutes ago. If you downloaded it then and now you should be good, otherwise you'll be going a lot faster than intended in the air lol

This system knows where the middle of the map is and can distribute different types of nodes accordingly.
An example being minibosses ALWAYS spawn in the middle, camp sites are ALWAYS more likely to spawn near the end before the final boss, ect...
More than 1 week later, I now have a very nice feeling node map generator for my roguelike game!
Also the lines wiggle now lol

I can now divide the map into 1/5ths, which means I have greater control over the RNG difficulty curve. For example, I know nodes marked as "3" are in the middle of the map, so I can make them have a higher spawn rate for mini bosses.

Chalking today's attempt at making a procedural roguelike node map to a failure. At least the end result looks cool when you ask it to generate a new map every half second lol
