A couple of juvenile Cattle Egrets for the #BirdOfTheDay #ShoutItOut theme.

A vertical photo of ice surrounding a small channel along Lake Superior. The red granite that make up the shoreline are coated in a heavy layer of ice. Water dripping from waves forms opaque white icicles that are thicker on the bottom than the top. The ice is clear at the bottom, branching out from the bases, resembling jeweled scepters.

A Nelson's Sparrow surprised me yesterday while I was birding along the shoreline. Didn't even know about this species. It stayed close to vegetation, weaving in and out, but I still got a couple of pictures.
