Perhaps only Boris Johnson's threatened (since blessedly abandoned) book about Shakespeare could compare.

Positively obsessed with the upcoming MEGALOPOLIS OGN from @chrisryall.bsky.social & @thatjacobphillips.bsky.social. Final product will be in color, but these black & white panels on the ARC are killer.

In the context of that particular word it is kind of fun that the o and e look like they're pressed together in a narrow aperture because they both attempted to go through at the same time.

Summer of Our Discontent by Thomas Chatterton Williams review โ€“ the liberal who hates leftists In his caustic critique of identity politics, Williams ends up condemning every kind of collective action

what is great about this review is that the author is clearly sympathetic to the premise but canโ€™t get past the basic fact that the author is a vacuous fool www.theguardian.com/books/2025/j...

This has always been the GOP's strategy:

1) Cut taxes for the wealthy & corporations by claiming they'll pay for themselves.

2) Explode deficits

3) Use the debt as an excuse to demand cuts to vital programs that help millions.

4) Repeat.

More Everything Forever: AI Overlords, Space Empires, and Silicon Valley's Crusade to Control the Fate of Humanity AI Overlords, Space Empires, and Silicon Valley's Crusade to Control the Fate of Humanity

If youโ€™re not white, or you have friends or loved ones who arenโ€™t white, or youโ€™re not a total sociopath and therefore care about fellow humans who arenโ€™t white, you need to understand this regime thinks not being white is inherently suspect, and lots of your fellow Americans are fine with that.

Personal freedoms

The personal freedoms accorded throughout the Constitution and its many amendments are an
essential protection against government tyranny and reflect the inherent rights of every person in
the United States. These include,
-Freedom of expression. Democracy depends on freedom of speech and the press. The
government has no right to intimidate or punish anyone simply on the basis of their views and
ideas.
ย -Criminal justice. Those suspected and accused of crimes are protected by many provisions of
the Bill of Rights, including those limiting police searches and arrests, ensuring the privilege
against self-incrimination, and providing for fair trials.ย  These rights are imperative to protect
individual freedom and prevent abuses by the government.
-Personal autonomy. Our society respects fundamental aspects of autonomy, including the
liberty to make important decisions about oneโ€™s life.

the Constitution, and its chief safeguard of our liberty, is
avoiding the concentration of power by separating and placing limits upon the legislative,
executive, and judicial powers of government among three branches that check, balance, and
respectย each otherโ€™sย power.ย ย
-Responsibility of each branch of government: Congress alone possesses the legislative power,
which is limited to that authority enumerated in the Constitution. The President is not a King;
his power must come from the Constitution or a statute passed by Congress and may not be
applied to violate the constitutional rights of others. And it is โ€œemphatically the province and
duty of the judicial department to say what the law is.โ€
-National defense: The federal government must provide for the common defense, which today
means protecting the United States, supporting our allies overseas, and preventing foreign
interference from disrupting our political system. But whether the federal government is

protecting national security or fulfilling its domestic responsibilities, it must adhere to the limits

It really is incredible how despite a half-century of expanding executive power, ballooning the debt, bloating the government, and policing private behavior, the GOP is still discussed as the party of small government libertarianism and fiscal responsibility. Just no relation to reality at all.
