The ginger in the tea helps ease sore throat pain and the honey being antimicrobial has been a good combo. I'm not a tea drinker but I like that mix

I can't really speak for any additional meds you might be using, but I've been advised to use either Claritin-D or the equivalent to handle decongestant stuff.

That and lots of honey-ginger tea. Claritin is anti allergy but its decongestant helps me more than those painkiller potions tend to
