If it weren't for Burnley, it would be possible for Nuno's team to escape, only at the expense of all of Nuno's old teams.

One of my college classmates announced his son's birth AND his vibe-coded app to help parents decode baby cries in the same LinkedIn post and I just need to go walk into a lake.

AI doesn't solve bad coffee or the lower capital costs of good coffee makers at more and more offices / homes.
The margin of substitution is not away from Starbucks to other stores - its away from stores.

Sports betting ruins the lives of gamblers and athletes. Its hard to think of a bigger lose-lose for society. Its deadweight loss all the way down.

Now look at each component at the NAICS6: The size of the drop in New Single Family Housing is actually offset partially by increasing employment in Residential Remodeling.

To add more to this, think about the ways in which NAICS6 gives you more detail than NAICS4 for specific industries. Here is residential housing construction (2361) in Pennsylvania:

Trying to decide if my get-rich-quick scheme should be coaching an SEC football team and getting fired or coaching Manchester United and getting fired.
I can do equally well at both jobs, in that the point is to get fired.

Just had Gemini write my README files for a project, and holy smokes, if all we can do is get rid of the drudge work, this is a huge leap.

@wshcommanders.bsky.social, I haven't kicked in 15 years but I bet I could do pretty well.

While the de minimus exemption causes lots of people to realize how tariffs are impacting them directly, I am reminded of the long literature on the different effects of *where* taxes are collected and how that impacts their salience.

Should be fun to read the papers in a few years on this topic.

My daughter started at a new school and has had a tough time fitting in. I learned yesterday that she joined a "recess club" of girls who kill lantern flies and dismember them, bringing their wings to science class as trophies.
