Anonymous asked: I was reading through your posts about Clover, and I had this question since: was Halsin Clover's first? He was his first and only. Until Halsin, he didn't really have contact with much of the world beyond the wild, and certainly hadn't let anyone nearly that close himself. In addition to the emotional aspect there's a lot of the physical. Clover literally had not been allowed to feel good like Halsin made him feel good. He didn't know it was something his body could do or that he deserved from it. Clover experiences pain as a constant thing. His relationship with his body has amounted to it hurts; it's something for things to bite and tear; someone wants it and I can't let them have it; it is a thing that bleeds and gets sick and is terrifying when it does. Halsin treating it as something precious and desired and to be cared for railed against everything he thought about himself. He wanted Halsin back without understanding what to want someone in that way was supposed to mean, but he did, and Halsin would show him how.

"X thing is bad!" Is a reasonable statement. You don't have to crow in the comments about WHY you personally have the inherent moral superiority for never having liked X thing, not once in your life. This is not about you!?
