When I first started visiting Holy Island I was very urgent about meeting tides and being ‘efficient’.

Now I refuse to drive.
Train to Berwick,
Bus to Beal,
Walk to the Causeway.
If the tide is up I have to wait.
Waiting and listening is why I go to the Island in the first place.
Win-Win 💝

That was the Rest Day that wasn’t but it was full of joy 💝
World Book Day with 1st Kesgrave Squirrels - typecast as Father Brown and I needed no costume - followed by the Beavers filling the church with joy as they completed their World Faith Badge
I got a certificate and they had bread and ‘wine’ 😉

This was so special. The beautiful Bury Psalter was written circa 1400 in the Abbey of St Edmund and is one of only two books from the pre-Reformation Abbey to remain in Bury St Edmunds. Since 1704, it has been owned by the local grammar school who have now gifted it to @stedscath.bsky.social

Yesterday evening we held an Evensong service to mark the receipt of the Bury Psalter. Pictured with Bishop Joanne and Dean Joe is Alan Jary, Comptroller of the King Edward VI Grammar School Foundation Trust, who gifted the Psalter to us at the Cathedral. You can see the Psalter in the Treasury.

Some nights I simply have to turn out all my lights and succumb to my craving for candlelight.

Highly recommend wandering around with a candle in your hand to light your way through the darkness. It'll heal something inside you, I guarantee it.

Guys, I'm so sorry that I contracted a virus that left me chronically ill and permanently disabled, and thus reliant on benefits. It's clearly morally wrong of me to want to survive when that money could be better spent on bombing the poor citizens of Iran.
