Its only taken 7 seasons over 4 years, to see the Forster's Tern from South Haven, Studland
The 3rd Studland record
It was feeding around Stone Island with 4 Sarnie Terns 07:20-07:30
I lost it as it flew back towards Brownsea

A small flock of Bar-tailed Godwits dropping into the Brownsea Island Lagoon this morning.

Viewed from an excellent @harbourbirds.bsky.social Winter Cruise around Poole Harbour with excellent commentary from Joe and Sam.

It could just be a sum plum Sandwich Tern sat in an interesting position, in bad light and pixilated?!

Its very early for Common, Arctic or Roseate Tern, which is why this bird is so interesting.

No sign of Forster's tern later pm off Baiter but several smaller terns with full black caps (such as pic) which I think is a common although the legs appear rather short. @harbourbirds.bsky.social

Fairly distant but good views of the 10 glossy ibis at Wareham Common today, plus two Egyptian geese and a single distant lapwing. Herring, med and black-headed gulls very busy. Water levels still very high! #WarehamCommon @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @harbourbirds.bsky.social
