As someone who was born in Minnesota (and spent summers here as a kid), but raised in California and spent some adult years there, I can share that I am viewed as a transplant, and the majority of my friends are transplants, too. Shared activity groups are essential for making lasting friendships.

I have had this *exact* conversation with the hubs. Also: Tina always gets what she wants, and Bob never does. Finally, I’m convinced that Gene grows up to be David Byrne.

And for those of us who are self-employed, we pay both halves.

Frost: Tonight the people stealing are not folks with tattoos and hoodies but people wearing suits and ties and congressional pins sitting in the capitol now, not in some alley wrapped in darkness but the United States congress wrapped in the flag. It is disgusting and we will never forget this.

Federal workers SAVE the government money, that’s why firing them is COSTING the government money. This isn’t difficult.

The Trump Administration is stealing from us. NSF-funded research is for the public good by design.

Our future scientific workforce. Our ability to use science to solve real-world problems. The joy and wonder we get from learning about our world.

Your friendly reminder that it is literally a federal felony punishable by up to five years in prison for the President, Vice President, or any employee of the White House to directly or indirectly ask the IRS to open an investigation into any specific taxpayer.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

Spoke to Rep. Stauber’s office (MN District 8) - registered my request for a “no” vote, and was asked if I had read the bill and why I opposed it. “Well, Rep. Stauber, as you know, is a co-sponsor of the bill, and there’s a lot of misinformation about what it actually says.”

Please come up to the 8th District and hold a town hall, because Representative Stauber is hiding from his constituents despite ongoing requests to meet with us.

Nature know what they’re doing - this is a protector plant meant to ward off trampling until other species can grow back and thrive. The message here seems clear: it’s too early to be hiking here.

I asked the one high ranking policeman I saw on 5th Ave why there were so few police. He said “We did not expect anything like this. Don’t tell anyone but I’ve only got 44 officers out here — and it’s a great crowd, great event, no incidents.”

You can stop asking where the mass opposition is. It's everywhere. People poured out to protest not only what Trump has done—and what they fear he will do next.

The message is: crowd large.

Many politicians, administrators, and business leaders, in bowing to Trump, have drawn confidence and comfort from the perceived vibe shift.

Events like this puncture that delusion.

Perhaps you might ask them to work on House members from Minnesota who are enabling, repeating, and uplifting this insanity - starting with Reps Tom Emmer and Pete Stauber.
