According to research by the Abdorrahman Boroumand Center, at least 1045 people have been executed in Iran between January 1 and September 23, 2025. In the latest update, 142 executions were recorded between the beginning of September and September 23.

Fereidun Mahmudi was killed outside Jina Amini’s funeral. The case was later dismissed for “lack of an identifiable shooter.” His story is part of a wider pattern of protest-era impunity.
