We can't believe how big our Endangered Huon tree kangaroo joey has gotten! When this little guy was born in late July 2025, he was roughly the size of a jellybean. Now, he's exploring outside the pouch and can be found in his Down Under habitat with mom Pearl!

Our lesser kudu calf has a name!

Born January 5 to lesser kudu mom Eleanor, Ella has been busy bonding with her herd, including big sister Lizzy, half-sister Elphie and Auntie Betty the gerenuk (aka our “lessest” kudu).

🐧 When African penguin, Roast Beef, started showing sudden weakness in his back legs, we teamed up with Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital. Through collaboration with a veterinary neurologist, we were able to identify a spinal issue that helped guide his treatment and recovery plan.

In honor of #FishingCatFebruary, we’re spotlighting Jonas, our fishing cat who can often be found lounging high on her perch in Village Hall. These incredible wild cats are built to swim and hunt in marshes, rivers, and wetlands across Southeast Asia.

Two coconut lorikeets hatched on Dec. 23 and Dec. 25 to parents C-Rex and Fior in our Avian Propagation Center. 🧡💙💚💛

Now just over a month old, they are developing well and remain safely tucked away in their parents' nest box behind the scenes.

Meet Luna, our Eastern screech owl! 🦉 While everyone’s cheering on their favorite team this weekend, we’re celebrating Superb Owl Sunday with this beautiful bird. Luna lives behind the scenes with our Animal Ambassadors, helping us inspire guests to appreciate and protect native wildlife.

Our next SCFD Community Free Day is Sunday, February 22 and tickets are now available!
