There’s other aspects that cause me to have more mixed to positive feelings about it. But I’ll save that for the full review. Here’s another episode ranking to tied you guys over.

Only unlike Series 3, where I felt that season’s biggest issue was having a mostly slogish first half. Series 5’s issue is the inconsistent quality of the episodes. I’d still say the good outweighs the bad. But the stinkers are a lot more prevalent and much easier to critique.

So… this season has me sorta in a bit of a conundrum on how I fully feel about it. I liked most of it overall, I think it starts the Moffat era pretty well; but it also all over the place at the same time. It’s sorta similar to how I feel about Series 3 imo.

Overall, I think this is a fantastic finale that’s almost up there with the Russell T. Davies Finales. We loved it.

-I love it for that. I feel episodes like this are why I agree with DSpeed in saying that Steven Moffat really does get Doctor Who and is a very talented writer. This season may of had it’s ups and downs. But this finale proves that Moffat has still got it. And started his era off fairly well.

-mindfuckary note. And I mean that in a good way. It’s a finale that’s very different from the RTD1 finales, but in a way that works brilliantly. If it were like the others, the Moffat era would be lacking its own identity in that department, but thankfully it doesn’t. It is very unique and-

13.) The Big Bang

…Well then. I can certainly say this, this season definitely ended off on a BIG BANG! My mind has been broken in half! XD

Again, I don’t think it’s quite beats out other season finales within the show. But man, it’s ends Series 5 off on a very powerful albeit-

But despite that, I’m still very intrigued to see where it all goes and how this season ends. It’s definitely taking some bold swings so far and I appreciate that. I’ll save my full thoughts once we’re fully done with the finale. But so far, fantastic start.

12.) The Pandorica Opens

We’re now almost done with Series 5… and I have a feeling it’s going to end on a big bang (pun totally intended lol).

No but fr, this finale is off on a very promising start. It doesn’t blow me away the same way other penultimate episodes have like in the RTD1 era.

Okay, but fr. This episode is bonkers and insane. It’s a fun enough watch… If you can resist the temptation to smack your TV cause of James Corden taking lots of screen time. It’s a very bonkers crazy episode that I’m not fully sure what to make of. It’s not great, but it’s again a fun watch.

Takeaway 4: Matt Smith overthrowing James Corden at literally everything ironically enough makes this episode incredibly fun to watch.

Takeaway 5: Time freeze = YouTube Poop but if it was official.

Takeaway 1: Eh, close enough. Welcome back “Are you my mummy?”

Takeaway 2: Aw fuuuuuuuuck, not a James Corden Jumpscare.

Takeaway 3: Damn, The Doctor showcasing his football (or soccer) skills is both hilarious and amazing once you find out that Matt Smith is a fan of UK Football.

WHAT

-showcasing his impact in a very positive way through the episode’s core themes and message. It’s not the most subtle or complex thing ever, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s an episode that works well in its simplicity and I love that. So overall, fantastic episode, I loved it.
