Well, I think as one government source put it to me, you need a values led argument. So even on NATO, for instance, don't just say they're anti-NATO, say that they would abandon Zelensky in Ukraine to Putin's Russia. So you immediately frame Polanski as on the side of someone who progressives dislike Vladimir Putin. And then I think you need to say, if you're sympathetic to green causes, we've been the greenest government ever. We've got Ed Miliband as climate secretary. We're championing Net Zero. You can point to economic policy as well. The Renters' Rights Bill, we know the housing's driven a lot of support for the greens. You've got wealth taxes to point to. And actually, in fairness, Rachel Reeves did in her budget, saying that we've raised taxes on private schools, private jets, private equity.

I mean, Labour recently recognized the Palestinian states. They banned 30 arms licenses to Israel. It's not as if there aren't concrete policies that you can point to about the kind of issues that might concern those moving to the Greens. And look, finally, of course, in terms of how you frame this, you say, look, a divided progressive vote ends up with Nigel Farage in number 10. He's an increasingly unpopular figure at the moment. So in a single breath, you've put Polanskiers on the side of Putin and on the side of Farage. I think that's more likely to give left leaning voters pause for thought than saying, look, the Greens are nuts, they're dangerous. Because if you're the kind of voter who's responsive to the nuts jive, you're very unlikely to vote Green anyway. You know, it's the kind of line that would resonate more with a conservative or a reform leaning voter.

Okay lads: how do we think it’s going to look when the government follows the New Statesman’s advice and starts screaming accusations of Putin-loving pro-Russian treason at both Reform *and* the Greens

Two ways to read this. One is “she lost on every substantive claim, completely failed in her attempts to ban trans staff from the workplace, and won mild procedural victories against her employers handling of her case”.
The other way is, I guess, “point one is longer so it must be more important”

Netflix is planning to buy Warner Bros for $72 billion, allowing it to acquire its major competitor HBO Max.

This corporate monopoly will be great for Netflix’s executives and a raw deal for everyone else.

Lina Khan explains the danger of corporate concentration.

The world’s largest streaming company swallowing one of its biggest competitors is what antitrust laws were designed to prevent. The outcome would eliminate jobs, push down wages, worsen conditions for all entertainment workers, raise prices for consumers, and reduce the volume and diversity of content for all viewers. Industry workers along with the public are already impacted by only a few powerful companies maintaining tight control over what consumers can watch on television, on streaming, and in theaters. This merger must be blocked.
