Tenant Resource Center The Tenant Resource Center provides free housing counseling and other services to our neighbors in Dane County, WI. We're here to help you understand your rental rights.

If you need help with an upcoming eviction case, you can learn more about your rights and complete an Eviction Prevention Screening on our website: www.tenantresourcecenter.org. And our office continues to be open for services. See our website for operating locations and services.

This is not the end of our journey, merely the next chapter in our mission. While there are many challenges that lie ahead for TRC and the whole of Dane County, we will continue to work tirelessly to provide accessible information on tenant rights, and our EDDP program will continue.

We are extraordinarily proud of the work our staff has done over the last 5 years. With remarkable partners we have supported housing stability for community members most vulnerable to housing insecurity. We have served wherever possible - in homes, in courtrooms, online, and throughout Dane County.

On Oct 1st, 2025, Tenant Resource Center entered a new chapter in our mission of housing justice for all. COVID-related Emergency Rental Assistance has expired. Until further notice, TRC currently does not have additional rental assistance available to the vast majority of the public.

RSVP of Dane County RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) of Dane County is primarily a volunteer placement agency, offering a variety of programs under its umbrella. These programs are designed to connect seniors with meaningful opportunities in the community. At the upcoming mini resource fair, RSVP will provide registration forms for both volunteers and passengers. Volunteers must complete a background check, have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a car. Passengers simply need to fill out an eligibility form. The purpose of MMFHC is to promote fair housing throughout the State of Wisconsin by combating illegal housing discrimination and by creating and maintaining racially and economically integrated housing patterns. The River Food Pantry The River is South Central Wisconsin’s busiest food pantry. Services include free groceries for pickup or delivery, to-go meals, online grocery orders, mobile meals, and after-hours food lockers. The River also recovers food and resources—that would otherwise go to waste—from local retailers. Since 2006, The River has grown to serve over 3,000 people every week in pursuit of its vision: a fully nourished community. On Friday, Drs. Carolina Sarmiento and Revel Sims presented research conducted by their Chican@ & Latin@ Studies students at UW–Madison. In collaboration with TRC, the students surveyed tenants who had accessed our services, centering their voices and housing experiences in Dane County.

Thank you to our volunteers! Since January 2025, TRC Volunteers have made 853 calls and have helped renters with repairs, applications, finding housing, ending a lease, security deposits, and eviction.

¡Gracias a nuestros voluntarios!
