Finland is winning the war on fake news. What it’s learned may be crucial to Western democracy Russia's neighbor has developed a plan for countering misinformation. Can it be exported to the rest of the world?

We need to be like Finland
Teach our children!

What we want our students to do is … before they like or share in the social media they think twice – who has written this? Where has it been published? Can I find the same information from another source?

I’m still on FB. Today I saw a post about doing a squat every time you hear one of your kids call, β€œMom!” Mine are now 12 and 15…surely this can’t be too bad and ha ha I’ll give it a try!

I lost count of how many squats I did today.

We are wired to learn from storytelling, and make deep connections through imaginative play. Creating art is also a way to essentialize, one of the most profound types of cognition. Art has a function in human society. AI can make pretty pictures, but it can’t replace this process for us. 2/2

Great questions on this thread. What makes art different? Art is a way to process and make meaning of the world around us. It’s a form of multimodal communication, of ideas born of our experiences and dreams, and our interpretations of the world around us, including others’ artworks. 1/2
