There’s more to add in - you use the charge speed differently in different situations eg slow chargers for overnight and fast chargers for on the go. Approach is different to petrol - don’t always charge full to empty and often charge when you stop rather than stop to charge. Complex equations!

I’m British. Mostly English, with some traces of Scottish and Transylvanian in my history, but zero American. I was being a bit ironic, comparing the gentle Scots shouting with the raucous Canadian shouting. In fun.

I don’t know but the Canadian team are shouting instructions at each other very loudly and it’s terribly uncouth.

I think parental restriction is fine for those who have parents who are able to do this. Suspect there are a group whose parents can’t/won’t for whatever reason and they are probs also most vulnerable. Though still not convinced this is the right solution for all the other reasons you say.

I once cried in an M&S fitting room because the bra fitter refused to sell me an underwired bra because I was pregnant. The only alternative was so high and frumpy I couldn't wear a v neck. I had all the evidence that it's OK if well fitting (am BFC) but informed consent counted for nothing 😭

I think the right sizing is essential - most women are in too big a back size and too small a cup size. M&S measuring service remains bad for this!

Whereas for me, underwires are v comfortable and I find it hard to find supportive non underwire. My shoulders can't cope with crop top styles. But agree that the general principle of poor design, limited choice and archaic sizing and "fitting" is infuriating.

I was once in Millbank Tower at the same time as David Cameron, albeit in the office of an entirely different organisation.
