Johnston school board pauses on change to bullying, harassment policies For the second time in a week, Johnston County Public Schools leaders on Thursday paused a conversation about excluding LGBTQIA+ language from the district's bullying policy.

Due to the efforts of YDJC (especially our VP), @equalitync.bsky.social & local advocacy groups, the JCPS Board has now postponed a decision to rollback discrimination protections.

For now, we can breathe a sigh of tentative relief as the #johnstoncounty BoE is tabling the rollback of protections for #LGBTQ+ students and faculty.

We will keep an eye on this one, but this is why public advocacy is so important. Thank you to our VP Ben Chapman for your work on this 💙 #ncpol

Public pressure is WORKING. The policies that were set to be rolled back tonight that protect LGBTQ students and staff is now being sent back to committee!!!
