2/2 One of the ways I have tried to mitigate this is to ask govs to send questions to the GProf, before the meeting to give them a voice. It also makes sure ALL govs read the documents prior to the meeting. 😅

We definitely need to do that to come back fresh and ready to go, or run the risk of burning out or resenting the role.

I can’t believe I have almost completed my first academic year in my role as a Governance Manager. It’s had its challenges, building on an existing role, learning the admin ropes, but essentially making it my own. Looking forward to building on this in September with new challenge and goals!!!

That can be a real challenge can’t it. I know I have been guilty of that in the past but realised that I had more time on my hands so had to cut them some slack. The issues tho means we can over compensate and make excuses for non engagement of others which can end up in taking on the workload.

That was my first thought. For change to be effective we need to know the potential impact. But also we need to know the reasons for change to be able to both internalise it and embed it, or face kick back.

By networking, keeping ourselves informed and sharing what we can with colleagues. I always support agenda items with reports and articles 'for information' so colleagues can read around a topic if they need to #AlwaysLearning #UKEdGovs
