Change is so often seen as a bad thing based on something not working, but the ability to change an adapt is a huge positive. Education changes all the time depending on government change, strategies not working. We need to be equally as adaptable to internalise, and make it work for stakeholders.

2/2 One of the ways I have tried to mitigate this is to ask govs to send questions to the GProf, before the meeting to give them a voice. It also makes sure ALL govs read the documents prior to the meeting. 😅

1/2 Very true! I have witnessed the loudest voices that can dominate meetings that don’t actually ask the right questions, whilst quieter individuals get completely overlooked. Cont/d

So true, we also need that light to light up those hidden timers, see things that aren’t necessarily obvious by asking questions that satisfy.

We need to be clear in our purpose & communicate it to others (vision). We need to know what we stand for & demonstrate that in all our actions & interactions (values). We need to be impactful in our work & ensure this impact is positive for all our children & YP (effective/reflective) #UKEdGovs

We definitely need to do that to come back fresh and ready to go, or run the risk of burning out or resenting the role.

I hope we're going to take a break for at least some of it and do something we enjoy with people we like being with, or on our own if that's what helps us relax and recharge. #UKEdGovs

I can’t believe I have almost completed my first academic year in my role as a Governance Manager. It’s had its challenges, building on an existing role, learning the admin ropes, but essentially making it my own. Looking forward to building on this in September with new challenge and goals!!!

That can be a real challenge can’t it. I know I have been guilty of that in the past but realised that I had more time on my hands so had to cut them some slack. The issues tho means we can over compensate and make excuses for non engagement of others which can end up in taking on the workload.

That was my first thought. For change to be effective we need to know the potential impact. But also we need to know the reasons for change to be able to both internalise it and embed it, or face kick back.
