So happy with my N100 mini itx local server, running cold and on low power (starts with 6W!), in a little box with a PICO PSU (max 120w), 16GB Ram, a SSD disk (m2 is an option!). Great for my WordPress (or any other PHP stuff) setups, with local SSL. Way faster than LocalWP.

Yeah I mostly spared him (I took a last shot at getting an i5 14th) :) and will say nothing in the survey. It was close yeah, now I'm just hoping the i3 will arrive properly to sell it out :D

Haha Charly be a dreamer! of course Occam's Razor applies here: The support guy made a mistake confused i3 with i9 (!) so I'll receive the same thing. Miracles are rare right? At least I'll get a new sealed i3 to sell :D

Yeah since I swapped for the i5 12th, no issues. 13th and 14th are quite the same right? Well this rma i3 13th is > 2yo, so it might be the famous degradation. Yeah the i9 has a good price. I might buy a i7 12th, no K eventually. No need for more TDP/Heat :D

I told the guy "Mmm but 13th Gen has issues" so he went for that option. Anyway I just asked him if there was an extra cost, better be on the safe side :) If I actually get the i9 I'd probably sell it to cover the i5, what do I want an i9 for? :D Intel was always good to me, they replaced a NUC too!

About my i3 13th Gen issue, after installing an i5 12th (which works perfectly with motherboard, RAM etc) Intel support said they'll replace my dud i3, and as I told them "I don't know, do you have anything better? 13th seems cursed" the guy said "I have an i9-14900k in stock".. What? :D

Just took a look in a video, Sway might be too advanced for me but boy is it fast. I definitely want a Linux Desktop. I need to add back the RAM to my old Thinkpad and test it! Also PopOS is building a new Window Manager from zero. How cool.

Well I gave my sister my old Optiplex 790 SFF (love that thing) and it's an i5 3100 I think. It was a breeze with Windows 7, on Win10 it was ahem slow but a SSD upgrade improved it tons. With Linux it'd be a ball. I still hope to move my i5 Gen 9 to Debian asap!

Haha hilarious, but that's me, shifting from software to hardware without notice. Too bad there's not an i5 Window Manager to go deeper into the confusion! :D Long story short the i3 was not doing fine, suspecting the Intel Gen13 curse, although the Windows curse is always top candidate :D

Hi Nick!! Indeed :) Hope you're doing good. People are coming! Slowly but surely. Technically Bluesky looks awesome now. I'll report that I didn't break any Linux during my absence. And I swapped an i3 for an i5 all by myself, first time ever, how about that :D

Hate/Anger is so expensive to me. As you say I kinda black out when I get angry. I don't like that feeling. The times I was pushed and instead of retorting I went "Oh really? look at that", it was so good. Yet, sometimes you need to vent or get choked. Curated indifference might be a good balance.

Yeah I think we need to go minimalist on several things, music, movies/tv shows.. Sometimes I feel we've gone too far. Reboot!

Windows 22H2 is such a disaster, no wonder it's "optional". I had to uninstall it (Couldn't move windows by dragging the title bar to name one glitch). It left remnants though? File Explorer with an odd gallery, Paint (I think?). The Dev Home (a weird thing I couldn't figure out) dissapeared.

My old Thinkpad died and Pop!OS along with it. So I recovered my Debian NUC and I restaged with Pop!OS. Quite a pleasant experience (the keyboard/mouse weren't but that's a wireless Logi issues story..). A couple of hiccups ("Network was interrupted" in Chromium) but otherwise lovely.

Ah crazy things in the industry. At least back then it was about development software now they fight over stupid social networks :D

Rings a bell! Wasn't there a J Net or Visual J or something too by Microsoft? I remember Borland/Inprise had in fact a J Builder too :D

Yeah you're right, the little I saw it of C# resembled Java (which I don't know much of either, but the syntax is recognizable). I think there's Delphi in the spirit, more than anything. Or maybe C++ Builder :D

Oh yeah I definitely wouldn't do that or pay a dime there :D (although to be honest I had to almost take a family snapshot the other day for airtm. But well one has to eat :D )

Yeah well C# was created by Anders, the heart of Delphi, so it should have been my natural move. But I didn't. Good thing it's free. I have a little unnatural aversion to the .NET dependency (one EXE no DLLs was my mantra) but these days it's quite embedded in Windows so I should get over it :D

Not lately but I still have a couple of potential clients (from time to time) who ask me Windows stuff, mostly middleware to be honest, so a Console app, but if I want a GUI too, I need that. Delphi again has been the solution but I've not updated and don't play to do $uch thing either. Soo :D

Oh yeah I know, at least about Electron. Flutter too I guess. Delphi is totally native and I use that but I want to leave it behind :) I'll sadly end up using some Free C# :D
