First game of the day was Age of Galaxy 2E.

This is what I think i wanted Imperial Settlers to be. Very snappy abstracted 4X game that felt really strategic. I normally don’t like the “manage your entire game with only 7 cards” genre but this one was a hit.

And I have said as much in an email exchange a few years ago, but the full commitment to the curmudgeonly tone of your news letter is even more delightful to me than the wonderful and weird games and art projects you make.

I have a general commitment to not travel to the US until it fixes basically all of it and a broader aversion to travel more than 5km beyond my general work zone but I am going to have this printed on a shirt on the off chance we can meet in Canada or abroad because that will make for great picture

One of my goals in life is to meet @timhutchings.bsky.social because he has long been my favorite creative person. I live for the newsletter updates.

The jury is in. 9.5/10. They lost a half point because the person who brought it out warned me it was very hot. Sir, i don’t live in a nanny state. I eat my food molten hot.

I’m taking a break from posting about board games to post about travel.

I don’t love traveling, and like driving even less. HOWEVER

I DID SEE A FOX TRY AND FOLLOW A PIZZA INTO MY HOTEL.

Tonights game is There and Back again in honor of @communis.bsky.social

It’s a gaming sunday and the first game is Bug Run by Bombyx. I don’t LOVE it at two players but i could see it being an absolute chaotic blast at 4-5 players.

It’s a little splash of Cuthroat Caverns, a dash of Tokaido and the flavoring of Mouse and Mystics.

I had another game that was just pigs from top to bottom.

Can relate.

I commented on Tik Tok as well but you did a wonderful job! Not a ding or dent which is more than I can say for most RPG books we get from a certain company that rhymes with Blizzards of the Toast. 🤫

I always expect my tiktoks to make people cry but this sounds like a positive result. Thank you for making such a cool game!

I have now officially played Vantage from @stonemaiergames.com and it has exceeded my hopes and expectations. It won’t be a game for everyone but it delivers on what it promises to deliver on and while you can make comparisons to games that have similarities, it is distinctly unique.

Tonight is a game that I am so incredibly hyped for:

Regicide Legacy from Badgers From Mars.

The original isn’t a game I play a lot but I think about it often and this version is INCREDIBLE.

Tonight is Living Forest Duel! Living forest is probably my favorite lighter weight game and Duel captures the spirit and design (and the amazing art!) in a very tense two player game.
