Won a Skirmish today. Dunno how much longer I'll be on Ezreal, but I do really like my list. A vast majority of my losses in the last ~30 sanctioned matches have been to the untargetable camel. Maybe the SB Downwell should be an unchecked power.

My Washington State tax is going to go up and that's a good thing. We had the most regressive tax structure in the country for DECADES.

I have fond memories of getting poked fun at at my first LGS for rolling Aether Vial up to like 9 and going "JUST YOU WAIT!" I don't think I ever got to do it but it would've been sweet.

9. Psychic Frog is my problematic son and the card I gotta pick for my life as a designer :)

This exact design isn't something I can take for credit for, but the initial sketch and bit were one of the first things I made when I worked for Wizards, and I love that people have had fun with it.

8. Korvold and the Eldraine Brawl decks are the first thing I have a design credit on. Chulane's Wild Bounty was what I had ownership over but a suggestion I had for Korvold in a playtest was one of the first dominoes that led to me saying "I think I'd like to design games, actually."

7. Hogaak feels emblematic of a lot of my competitive success.

Step 1: Identify bananas card
Step 2: Force broken thing into shell
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit!

It was my first tabletop PT and I got so deep I even 2-1d each draft with different sideways draft decks (one was Hogaak!) :)

6. Metalwork Colossus was the first deck Jade and I ever worked on together. We barely knew eachother for the event but she was starting to grind SCGs. We ended up rooming bc we were the only women on the team and stayed up till 5am just talking. Twice.

5. Rally the Ancestors is the slot I struggled with the most because the clever person in me wanted to put Evolving Wilds here bc of how many of my most successful decks have played it, but I really think Rally is what started the snowball rolling on my content creation & Pro Magic life.

4. Inkmoth is a 3-fer and was my favorite card for awhile. Standard Tempered Steel paid my rent for ~6 months; Wolf Run Ramp was the first deck I ever won a tournament with that had hundreds of people; & Modern Infect is my favorite deck all-time.

3. Contagion Clasp a bit of a two-fer. The only time I've ever quit Magic was for ~6 months in 2010 to pursue music. Got drawn back in by UW Venser Blink, lent to me by my friend Jake, who would grow to become my best friend.
Clasp also Proliferates, which has obv significance for me :)

2. Second Sunrise is the first time I ever "netdecked," in part because I thought the use of Sunrise in extended Sunny Side Up was so clever. Probably the beginning of me thinking of Magic as a game engine to try and do more with than the traditional "creatures and removal" stuff.

1. Darksteel Colossus was the first card I ever dreamed of owning. I think that dreaming probably represent when I fell in love with Magic & it became more than just a game to me.
