Is there any autisttic/ND community established on e.g. Discord? If not, interest in? #chemsky

We're celebrating #InternationalWomensDay by shining the spotlight on one of the most remarkable women of science, who also worked here at the Royal Institution: Kathleen Lonsdale.

Squared Fourier transformed pattern from the Tartan motif, showing the absence of a mm or higher symmetry.
It's been a while since I posted #FourierTransforms, so thought I would risk getting bored with some periodic tilings... until I've found a nice case of #pseudosymmetry in a Tartan pattern 🧐 Can you spot its origin? (pun intended) #crystallography

An article I have been waiting to read for years, by my friend (and #crystallography hero) Juanma Garcia-Ruiz and co-authors, has just been published!
"On The Origin of our Fascination with Crystals" 💎 😌

#PeerReview is such a strange process. Sometimes I got so excited, but the more I dig the more I find serious problems. Sometimes it all feels bland, but then I recognize that the writing was not delivering well some actually good science. It can take weeks and breaks to really find out. #ChemSky

Hear hear, IUCr2029 @iucr2029.bsky.social is here!
A positive sign from the organizers of a very much awaited #crystallography congress that is getting closer and closer 🔥
Give it a nice 'Follow', fellow structural chemists 🤜✨🤛
This is definitely @depthsofwikipedia.bsky.social worthy

New Turing Test just dropped: Bolognese sauce...
Maybe we can add it hidden somewhere in university tests?

You posted a Linkedin link, and that cannot be traced by @altmetric.com and forces users through LinkedIn; it's ideal to post the publisher's link so you make both statistics tracking and bluesky users happy at the same time 😁

Above, the tart is prepared by partitioning the area in 6 parts, and filling them with, in order, blackberry, apricot, blackberry, apricot, blackberry, apricot jams. a few decorative streaks of italian "frolla" butter dough created a nice 6-fold woven pattern.
Today is my last day of physical presence at ETH Zurich, so I thought I would prove to my colleagues that 3n-fold symmetry goes way better with tarts than the mainstream 2- or 4-fold ones! 😋 Did not hear any contrasting opinion during the meeting #SymmetryBaking #crystallography

We're very grateful for support from @oscarsproject.bsky.social helping us build an open database for high quality XRPD and PDF patterns. We've collected a huge amount of data over the last year, which has also contributed to our users' research.
We'll be launching the database later this year.
❄️ Don't let your research stay frozen. 4 days left to submit your IUCr2026 abstract, no registration required, just hit submit.
This is your final extension. Thaw out that draft and get it in before the window closes.

Oh I love some respect for language, we're all guilty of some misuse, it's never too late to acknowledge and be patient and informative to others!
I could bring up "lattice", "Bragg reflections", and "n-dimensional" (n=0,1,2,3), but I already discuss it here: pubs.rsc.org/en/Content/A...
