The sequence of preparation of a jam tart, and the final product. Above, the tart is prepared by partitioning the area in 6 parts, and filling them with, in order, blackberry, apricot, blackberry, apricot, blackberry, apricot jams. a few decorative streaks of italian "frolla" butter dough created a nice 6-fold woven pattern.

Today is my last day of physical presence at ETH Zurich, so I thought I would prove to my colleagues that 3n-fold symmetry goes way better with tarts than the mainstream 2- or 4-fold ones! 😋 Did not hear any contrasting opinion during the meeting #SymmetryBaking #crystallography

Oh you actually reminded me how shocked I was when noticing that in the Netherlands food spoiled super quickly, because of humidity... now I connect the dots!

I think people 'round here might overestimate how much thrash they produce when travelling. When I eat a snack, I've always been keeping the wrapping in my pocket and, once home, I notice them and throw them in my bin.

Especially considering the huge amount of packages and subpackages in every snack! I might guess the answer is that you rarely consume things while travelling, but only indoor (except for street food, but street food places have their bins)? Could that be the case?
