Love it, Kate. We have a variety of bikes, mostly non-electric. The ebike gets used mostly for hauling things like groceries, but I mostly commute on my road bike too. 😎🚴🏼

This! Ebikes are a far more effective way to make a more sustainable world than electric cars. Our family of FIVE drivers can get by just fine with just ONE car, in part, because we have an ebike with a large basket that essentially acts as our second car—and for a fraction of the price!

If only the “America is the best” crowd could truly understand this. I was raised that way, and it took me living in Europe for my 20s to fully realize how distorted that view is.

The Misuses of the University - Public Books Have the funds that might have trained the next generation of scholars at the nation’s first research university have been blown on ostentatious new buildings?

This is a pretty fierce piece of writing: observing the strange overbuilding & underfunding, bandwagon-hopping, donation-seeking, corporate remaking of elite universities.

I think the media understands the difference between e-bikes and illegal e-motos. They are intentionally conflating the difference between legal e-bikes and illegal e-motos to stoke fear and get clicks.

It's could destroy the e-bike revolution if we don't find a way to stop it.
