I don't get the acrobatics on behalf of Platner. The stuff he's good about MANY candidates should be good about. Why go to such incredible ends to defend this guy? We can't manage anti-imperialist, pro-labor candidates who don't flirt with Nazis? Let's dare to dream! We can do it!

This story, from @natezuke.bsky.social, is absolutely wild. A trans woman who never changed her gender marker was issued a letter invalidating her license. At the DMV they cut up her license, which had an "M" marker.

I liked him. He has good policy positions sounds like a real person. Didn't love the 6 months of Blackwater contracting in Afghanistan. The rest of his bio seemed good.

This is my problem with Platner in a nutshell

Trans Kansan's being stripped of their licenses due to having previously - legally - changed their gender marker is absolutely shocking.

A person who misses the letter - let's they moved and forgot to have their mail forwarded - could drive to work and be arrested for driving without a license.

An incredible song. I could listen to it all day.

Discovering I was trans was the greatest blessing of my life. A simple explanation for a sense of wrongness I'd felt so long I thought that wrongness was me.
