@reproductionsrb.bsky.social @anzpra1.bsky.social A beautiful talk this morning from @kirsty-pringle.bsky.social on the importance of consumers in research - not just involving them but having them lead the research direction ๐คฐ
20.10.2025 00:01 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 2 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Embracing neurodiversity in research and teaching
Diana Tan from Macquarie University explores neurodiversity barriers in research degree pathways
4 - Do wireless communication technologies pose a threat to male fertility? (and health in general). Dr Geoffry De Iuliis from The Uni of Newcastle
Sperm and the male reproductive tract are a sensitive model to explore how electromagnetic energy used in wireless communications may affect biology
3 - Dr Sab Ventura from Monash University explains the difficulties of developing non-hormonal male contraceptives
The key may be using combination approaches and targeting the vas deferens
Interesting targets could include adrenergic and purinergic receptors
2 - PAF1 duplication orchestrates male germline specific transcription and meiosis in Drosophila - Dr Rippei Hayashi, ANU
Flies offer significant tools to explore genetic regulation of biology
PAF1 plays important roles in multiple phases of sperm production

Fiona's team develops novel devices and uses AI to improve fetal monitoring and identifying treatments for placental disease.
Congratulations to Lindsay Wu (UNSW), recipient of the 2025 @mercyperinatal.bsky.social Mid-Career Medal for Women's Health.
Lindsay's research has shown altered metabolism as a cause of reproductive ageing, including mechanisms for the biosynthesis of the redox cofactor NAD+
Congratulations to Dr Kelly Walton (UQ), recipient of the 2025 Robinson Research Institute Award for Excellence in Reproductive Biology Research.
Kelly's research has led to the development of TGF-ฮฒ technologies for modulating reproductive and metabolic function
