Finally feel like I broke through the funk of editing! Been hitting my ~500 words per day stride again lately instead of the carving three sentences out of silicon with a block of soft tofu that I have been managing. 😆

I'm definitely a morning/evening/I can't sleep writer. :) Maybe would be different if I didn't work a full time job. What about you?

Definitely hit that point in editing where I feel like just open mouthed screeching at the manuscript would be more productive than watching the cursor blink. 🤷‍♀️😅

It reminded me a lot of an inverse Outlander. 😊 I’m in the middle of Service Model now, about a robot valet trying to find meaning in a post-industrial downfall world. I’m really enjoying it.

It would be really bad for that. That’s exactly the sort of question that will make it hallucinate and give you an answer that is not true.

You have to double check everything it tells you, since it’s only 40-90% correct, so it’s largely a waste of time for research unless you’re just really really stuck and trying to come up with a lead and then you confirm the citation is real and that it is actually saying what AI says it’s saying.

Working my way through the Hugo novel nominee list! Made it through Someone You Can Build a Nest In, A Sorceress Comes to Call, and The Tainted Cup. Almost done with The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley and still have both Adrian Tchaikovsky novels, “Alien Clay” and “Service Model”, to go.

So, I did a raw quail egg shot the other day. Not sure why I did that.

And?! Don’t leave us in suspense! What do you think? 😜

Whew. Day job craziness is almost over for now. Looking forward to some chiller work hours over the next few months.

Go for it!!! I actually got hooked on her later books in this series - the live ship series, then went back and read these. I’m glad I did. The Main protag in these is depressed, so they can make for rough reading. But worth it.

This one starts amazing and also rough. I had to put it on pause until I am in a better headspace. ❤️

This one is amazing. One of my favorite books.

Whelp, got a developmental edit back that kind of bummed me out for a while. Circles has a twist ending and I apparently did not lead up to it well. BUT, finally have some ideas on how to ‘darken’ its pages and now to find the time to edit!
