It frames oppression as noble or even natural, and when it's situated so casually within these narratives, it actually does a great harm to audiences. Especially children who are most at risk, or haven't been exposed enough to history to be able to draw upon these patterns.

This is a huge reoccurrence in media that often crosses into both historical and sci-fi, especially when it comes to literal slavery and robots/AI— It's the "happiness in slavery" trope.

It's deeply rooted in both classissm+racism, by arguing that slavery is a mutually beneficial relationship.
