When the tables cost more simply because you don't make prints/keychains, you're a vendor, not an "artist." There are little to no fun displays that aren't just "blanc wooden minimalist displays" or "southern farm looks".
It's still handmade, from raw ingredient to final, like art to print/keychain.

It's def my bias but we do need to talk about how, to an extent, it does feel like my kind of art (yes, curating scents, learning to layer soap, artwork for packaging etc is a type of art), isn't valued much in the convention space.

I'm not allowed to vend at AN Halloween event either.

So looked into AniRevo TO and "mostly prints"/entry level tables were 150-200 while the table I was expected to get bc I don't carry prints at all was $400.

The biggest con in my city (Anime North) won't allow cosmetic sales in the artist alley. I understand to an extent because it isn't like.. explicitly artwork (even if my merchandise WERE to feature it), but expecting me in the dealer's alley ($1k+) is ridiculous.

I've had so much anxiety over my displays because of the type of craft I make (cosmetics), that require displays that can handle lots of weight. Most displays (even by small creators) are geared toward keychains/stickers and I get so frustrated over it.

I think it'd be cool if we had a larger discussion on the direction of conventions in NA- how expensive they are, how little artists make back, how much artists have to put in to even get accepted- And let's not forget how ridiculous the expectations are for presentation and merchandise with tables.

My expectations for Winds/Waves
