It’s a bit of a dilemma. Do you abandon democracy to save democracy? So I keep coming back to adherence to the rule of law and the Constitution. Great stuff to debate.

I share at least your suspicions but until there’s enough evidence that would stand up in a court of law, simply out of respect for our Constitutional order, I use the term “elected.”

What isn't mentioned is that the Republicans are having their conference at Donald Trump's resort. In other words, it's a kickback to line the venal simpleton's pockets. We are living in the most corrupt times.

This is a very real and personal struggle for me. My high school classmates (some) as well. I suspect it is for a great many Americans.

It does have the possibilities of getting formerly passive people on board to act to defend democracy. We certainly are seeing it in elections and No Kings rallies.

I absolutely do. I have both Ukraine and Canada flags flying at my home. I love Japan. I stand with Europe.

Another really good topic for healthy debate.

This mirrors my view. We’ve always had our serious flaws. No system of government is perfect. We’ve all seen the injustices and imperfections our whole lives. But the compass still pointed true north. The Constitution was still sacred.

That’s a healthy subject for debate. Man, I love Bluesky where we can actually talk about stuff without it getting mean and dangerous.

Ok. Elected with help. Russia (bomb threats in key Georgia precincts). Musk. Gerrymandered districts. SCOTUS. Fox Propaganda and right wing media ecosystem.

It’s not just one thing, it’s systemic.

Yeah I know. Crazy thing is I actually LOVE her laugh. I love the infectious joy.

Keep the debate going. This is constructive. We all agree it’s bad and we need to “fight” back but we need to figure out what that fight looks like. Best strategy. Battle plan.

Not altogether in agreement here but certainly true that it’s been bad for poor and marginalized people for a long time.

We fight to make it a more perfect union. How many times do we discover things have to get desperate before we do the things we should have done long before?
