The lizards have returned to the garden for spring! Time to begin the cleanup process and prep for spring planting.

The temperature at noon on Monday will be 22 degrees which is the same temperature it was in 1961 when Kennedy was inaugurated.

Collected the last peppers before the potential freeze tonight. After 10 years in TX I still find it odd that the first cold event doesn’t happen until Jan or Feb. And then probably in a week or so it will be back to 60’s and 70’s. That’s the sub-tropics for ya!

I was in kindergarten the election year for President Carter, we had mock elections, I voted for him. I remember because when I got home and told my christian mother, she hit me multiple times to let me know how wrong I was for voting for him.
I was 6 years old. I still would vote for him.

President Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 100. He was a symbol of what is best about America: kindness, compassion, duty and service. He will be missed, most of all by those who long for a return of that kind of country, led by a man with such strength of character.

Happy Winter Solstice to all in the northern hemisphere! I rest on this long evening with my mind wandering to thinking about what to plant for next spring. ✨

Did it produce any fruit?

Purple passion fruit blossoms amongst the lush green leaves of the vine.

The passion fruit vine was a new addition to the garden this year, it was supposed to be sterile. But I think it had other ideas, I’ve harvested many many yellow fruits. So many I had to freeze the pulp and seeds to save for later.
