You may think all maple leaves look alike, but being able to identify them can help you find invasive species. Norway Maple leaves are often mistaken for Sugar Maple leaves, but they do have some distinguishing features. Check out our graphic to learn how to ID this invasive #tree species!

Happy #WorldTurtleDay! #DYK that Canada has eight native species of freshwater turtles? Although turtles spend a lot of time in the water, they come up on land & travel between wetlands to build nests. Some even utilize forested areas for habitat, food & shelter. Isn't that turtle-y awesome!

Our planting partners, Raisin Region Conservation Authority, hand planted 550 new trees on this afforestation site in a floodplain along a watercourse to increase forest cover. The trees planted included a mix of Silver Maple, Tamarack, White Cedar, Black Spruce, Black Walnut, & Black Willow.

On Tuesday, Forests Canada CEO Jess Kaknevicius and Education Manager Allison Hands were presented King Charles III Coronation Medals by Lieutenant Governor of Ontario Edith Dumont. They received the honour for their distinguished work in forest restoration and education.
