Alongside some fake texturing via colored polygons, I've got enough blendshapes done that face tracking is showing results; 34/54 to go!
Once the shapes are done and rig weights are fixed on my arms/paws and ears (they don't fold properly), I can finally use this model for PC streams!
A quick dump of pictures and gif links before I head off to visit family for the holidays, of my christmas outfit and using a new shader's fur and glitter properties, and some snow I made for my avatar scene!

Hey! I'm not dead by the way!
Motivation troubles, obligations and time sinks is all I can really say.
I have, however, interspersed through the last several months, made some progress. More toned proportions, some basic workout clothes, a mockup on the intended textures. But still much left to do.
It's finally happening!
After far too long, the final significant update to my avatar is actually under way!
Progress so far;
- Creating the missing body mesh under the sweater. βοΈ
- Making little updates here and there. π‘
- UV mapping. π‘
- Fur texture making. π΄
- Clothing modeling/texturing! π΄

Suffice to say, I seem to have gained an odd fascination with Palworld's Katress mon.
This sketch was done in only 2 hours.

In other news, I'm working on art commissions again! So look forward to some posts around that. :3
Further detail is that I do plan to work in the winning VR games; Pistol Whip, Pavlov, and HL:Alyx on non-beatsaber days due to their limited nature of physical activity, depending on my capacity that day.
Also I've got VNyan working for non-VR games! VR will take more time though.

Yep! I had implied it before but I'm following my intention to share art here, SFW or not.
This is a hastily rough-colored sketch I made in ~3.5 hours, of my 'sona as a taur trying a wing design adapted from an AI art aberration. Not quite keen on it though by comparison.

Figured out radial dial usage for scaling avatar parts in VRC. Can never have too much floof, right?
Finally finished converting my avatar for VRC! Seems I have a lot left to fix, but it's functional.
Spent a little time hanging out with @writerfluff.bsky.social as the first time I'd logged into VRC since July 24th '22! Had so much anxiety but managed to acclimate and have a nice time chillin'. ^^
It's truly incredible how finnicky the systems involved in Unity are, let alone trying to set up an avatar for something like VRC.
After like, 8 hours of the worst rigamarole ever, I've finally uploaded an offline test of the avatar to try.. After I sleep. As it is 7am now.
Gon' be late.. Again..
Progress! I've finally figured out how to get animations and dynamic bones working via using a VSF avatar file for VNyan!

I haven't yet gotten tracking going, let alone the websocket stuff for beatsaber, but it's nice to at least have my idle animations functional!
Not been a lot to post since a lot of what I've been working on is converting stuff from one avatar to another for VNyan, but I can report that it's definitely comin' along!

Good news! In the meanwhile of me figuring out VNyan, I think I've determined how I can do expressions (assuming it works of course), so maybe I can get some of that going before stream tomorrow! (After sleep, because it's 4:30am.)

11.11.2023 23:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What as frustrating morning. I get everything ready for the avatar update and lo and behold putting it into beatsaber presents a slough of issues, including tracking (that I fixed thankfully), lipsync not working, and expression conflicts that I can't sort.
I really need to just switch to VNyan..
It begins! The avatar is finally back into Unity!
Unfortunately though, there's lots to do before it's functional:
- Recreate eye, ear, tail, and wing anims.
- Dynamic bones and colliders.
- Expressions.
- Saber hilts/hand poses.
- VR tracking points.
In the mean time, have some tail piccies!
