I just stumbled over it as a genre too.
I must have led a sheltered life.
Like you, I read what appeals & labels simply indicate the content.
But that one did surprise me.
Nora Roberts was the writer.
I enjoyed a trilogy.
I began another to find it was a romantasy.
DNF outcome.
But well written.

Most of the media is demanding that everybody supports the war effort. Well, sod that. This is an illegal conflict, launched by a decrepit American to distract from his domestic problems, which has already killed hundreds of women and children. I didn’t back the Iraq war in 2003. Nor this one!
