I'm with you on this.
My thought on it is I've been to live shows where the band was significantly better live than prerecorded. I've never purchased a live album based on this, but I imagine it could be better in that instance.
@kattni.bsky.social at #PyConUS pointing out that different cultures around humor can be confusing in serious communication, like talking about community standards violations. I often fall back on the "humor defuses tension" principle and should restrain that reflex sometimes.

He was unable to break it on his own. He had to wait until someone stopped. They had a tire iron and successfully got him out of the upside down car.
