34 years on my chest. My tattoo for my late partner Larry, done by Jimbo Ermilio at The Brook in Hastings, MN. I sent him reference images and asked him to shape it into a memorial, and I cried when he showed me the design. (It had to futz with the photo to remove some glare.)

Also, there are community spaces, many of which predate the George Floyd uprisings and have remained active. E.g., one cafe cooks and takes food to the major homeless encampments five days a week. Volunteering to do that (and/or teach adult literacy) sounds like a good retirement.

The Twin Cities. I like the culture/community, it's fairly affordable (more expensive housing but far better and cheaper health care), and there are lschools (UM, Augsburg, community colleges) where maybe I could adjunct for extra $ if I don't want to or can't continue to teach online for MiSU. /1
