The first of our new loan boxes is heading to a school today! We really hope the class enjoy exploring our Changes in Living Memory (Leisure) box. 😁

Some of those toys are still popular. My kiddo and nephew both want a rubik's cube for Xmas and, rather randomly, my kid's asked for binoculars.

A green plate stacked with scones. One is cut in half and served with cream cheese frosting, and scrumptious blood orange marmalade. A pot is in view with the cream cheese frosting and a jar of marmalade with a spoon.

Autumn called. It brought scones.

Carrot cake scones.

It’s interesting how little they know about the 50 year old man. That his son was with him and he was known in Glasgow. I got some info about the company that T R worked for but not much else. I’ve got a card to go into local archives but it’s where to start.

That one was fascinating. His body went back to Manchester on the 1.15am train.

Sometimes it pays to have a ratch through the drawers. Seems like in 1890 someone decided to use this newspaper as a drawer liner!

I'd love a catalogue of these pictures as so many people come in asking for a gate latch and don't realise how many types there are! Usually they just draw a picture for us.

A Roman mosaic of a bird. It's looking pretty sharp. It seems to be strutting, it has a quiff and it's body is patterned with chequerboard pattern

We don't know why, but we can't help thinking this bird is on its way to a nightclub. We also think it might have taken something. 😬
